Strange Newes

a typeface by Ferag NicBhrde

Strange Newes is a development of my Chapbook type, based on 17th
century typography. The characters have been made much smoother and more
regular. The font takes advantage of Unicode and includes a large number
of glyphs, including accented characters for eastern European languages,
Irish and Welsh, plus Cyrillic and Greek letters. The font also includes
a long-s, and a selection of period ligatures. Please refer to the
documentation for your OS for how to access these characters. This
archive contains the TrueType version for the PC, which should be
compatible with both Linux and Windows systems, and can also be
installed under MacOS X, though there are Mac-specific versions of this
font. You should have the following files:

* About Strange Newes PC TT.txt - this file.

* StrangeNewes.ttf - the font istelf. Please refer to the
documentation for your OS for instructions on installing this font on
your system. Sorry, I can't help youI don't know anything about Linux
or Windows. To install under MacOS X, simply double click the file to
see a preview, then click the "Install Font" button.

PostScript Type 1 and TrueType versions for the Macintosh are also
available. Italics and further weights are planned.
